Raina Edwards, LMHC

Raina Edwards is a 2017 graduate of Barry University’s Mental Health Counseling program. With becoming licensed in Florida in 2020, she has used her passion to create safe spaces for other. Having additional training in Marriage and Family Therapy, this has fueled her zeal for challenging generational trauma. Raina has additional certification as a Certified Group Facilitator Specialist.
Raina has had a variety of experiences including working with women struggling with homelessness to adults battling with substance misuse. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. in counselor education to further provide support and advocacy for marginalized persons. Her true passion lies in working with the LGBTQ+ community and Black women.
The foundation of her clinical practice is “If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” She believes that working together to create a safe space for and with others allows them to see the power within themselves. She has an integrative approach to counseling with heavy influences from Family Systems, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Raina also employs culturally sensitive counseling techniques.
