  • Yolanda Medica-Soso, MSW

    Yolanda A. Medica-Soso is a dedicated therapist with several years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults. She holds an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Psychology, and a Master degree (MSW) in Social Work, with a concentration in Mental Health Therapy. Her educational background and clinical experience have provided her with a strong foundation in assessment, psychotherapy, trauma-informed practice, and the development of individualized treatment approaches that address the unique needs of each person served.

    Yolanda began her career working with children and adolescents, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy, trauma-informed care, and trauma-focused interventions. Her clinical experience also included supporting children and families impacted by abuse, neglect, and other significant psychosocial challenges. In addition, she worked extensively with children and families involved in dependency cases, and provided clinical reports to the court that described the client/family mental health, treatment progress, and readiness for reunification.

    Over the years, Yolanda transitioned to working primarily with adults, where she has continued to utilize CBT, trauma-informed and trauma-focused therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, psychodynamic approaches, and psychoeducation to help clients better understand themselves, manage emotional challenges, and develop practical coping skills.

    Yolanda has also facilitated substance-use and medication-management groups and has extensive experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. She works closely with case managers to connect clients with community resources and collaborates with psychiatric providers to ensure treatment remains responsive to each client’s individual clinical needs.

    Yolanda’s greatest professional passion is trauma therapy. She believes in creating a supportive, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives. She enjoys working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and walks of life and approaches each therapeutic relationship with compassion, openness, and respect.
